Pixie is a 2 year old Terrier mix who is getting a life-saving surgery this Thursday!

Pixie's Road To Happiness

Pixie is a good girl. Some would say she's the best girl. 

She sits, she stays, and she loves harder and more than anyone could expect of a little pup. And she does it all despite what her body is quietly fighting. 

Since she came to Pet Placement Center in June, Pixie has been dealing with something she was born with: an external liver shunt. It's a serious condition that prevents her liver from filtering her blood the way it should. We're grateful she has no jaundice, no neurological symptoms. But the only thing that will truly fix her is surgery.

And surgery is expensive. 

Thus far, we have spent $3,055.31 on Pixie's medical care. The surgery itself is estimated to cost $6,000-7,000 — a significant sum for a shelter of our size. 

But Pixie doesn't know any of that. She just knows she wants to be loved, and she so very much wants to love someone back, in a home of her own. 

We believe she deserves that chance.
