About this pet:

Hi, I’m Franklin! I’m one of five dogs PPC recently took in from a terrible hoarding situation in Murray County, Georgia, involving almost 90 dogs. I came to PPC with three other “brothers” and a “sister” (but who knows if we’re really related, with that many of us in one house).

I’m kinda like that shy guy who stands next to you at a party but is too nervous to initiate conversation. I want to be near humans but I haven’t had enough positive experience to know I can trust them. As you can tell by the look in my eyes, I’m wise and serious. I’ve lived through a lot, but just like any dog, deep down, I really want a human to love me and keep me safe, fed, and warm.

Because of my rough history, I will need an experienced adopter who can help me build confidence, learn good potty and leash manners, and teach me to trust humans. At the shelter, I am almost always touching one of my brothers, so if you have another (small) dog at home, I bet I’d really like that. I’m still wary of human touch, but once I settle into someone’s lap, I’ll tilt my head back and close my eyes while they softly scratch my head and neck. Sometimes I’ll even give them a kiss to say, “Thank you for loving me.” I’m awfully grateful to be in a nice, warm shelter, but I’d be even more grateful for a home of my own!
